The Color Purple

Happy Mothers Day to us and all of the mothers out there doing the damned thing!

The following few posts are of my Mothers Day weekend. This is one of my BFF's, Valencia. This is my first Mothers Day as a single woman and I was wanting to do something different. Valencia was kind enough to leave her husband and daughter at home so we can hang out like teenagers and slurge a little, so we went to see The Color Purple on Broadway. We are sitting in our seats waiting for showtime to begin. We had so much fun!!

Okay, I know we were not supposed to be taking pictures in the seating area but I could not resist at the end. Fantasia did a great job as Celie, the entire play was spectacular. Definitely go see it, if you hadn't already.

Intermission

The play is Da Bomb!! I can't wait until the second half starts, hurry up V, and take the picture!

Really?

We both loved Forrest Gump so we ate dinner here and it was not bad at all. The food was actually seasoned, surprising...

I love theatre!! This was my first chance seeing a show on Broadway. I plan on returning in the fall with the kids but wanted to grab pics of all the plays that I want to see!

Happy Mother's Day Eve!

So Valencia and I just had to take a picture of ourselves cheesing just before going out to play in times square. My locks are not styled just all over the place because that is what they do these days but hey, freedom is not scripted, it just is....

Of course I had to enter Barbie's house and live out my unfulfilled childhood dream.....of becoming a princess once I was all growed up!

With my BFF Valencia in Toys R Us in Times Square we just couldn't resist being touristy. She is kind, a warm spirit, always even tempered and always sees the joy in life! That's why she is my BFF after 20 years!

Going to breakfast

Valencia wanted to take my pic before we left for a Mothers Day breakfast. Can't really see my hair but my locks will be 4 months old in 4 days! They are coming along nicely.
